TODAY, millions of people suffer from sleeplessness or insomnia. It is a serious problem because it interferes with the body’s ability to recoup the energy needed for the next day.
Sadly, many individuals resort to sleeping pills and drugs, which ultimately make the problem worse.
There are several factors leading to sleeplessness.
Very often, negative thinking and wrong actions during the day cause sleep disturbances during the night.
Repeated suppression of the voice of one’s conscience impairs mental health which results in negative personality traits and insomnia.Another factor that affects one’s sleep is food.
Mental ill health adversely affects one’s eating habits. It undermines our eating habits, the choice as well as the quality of food. This, in turn, influences sleep and health.
The biggest single factor contributing to sound sleep is sound mental health.Practise being positive throughout the day. The seed of your thoughts and actions is hope, good wishes for everyone and nature.
Your optimism generates the conviction that whatever happens is for the best. Even if you get sidetracked, you know how to take stock and drive with confidence in the right direction.
Tell yourself: Each day I face new situations — nothing remains the same. When I learn to adapt, I am happy, whatever the situation may be. I will sleep well.
Thought for reflection: Only when the turbulence of my own mind has subsided can I sleep in peace.
